We are representing a leading an international law firm is looking to add an experienced Financial Services Regulatory lawyer to its high-performing team in Sydney.
The role You will join a well-established Financial Services & Funds team advising on a broad range of regulatory and transactional matters across the financial services sector. The practice acts for a range of local and international clients including financial institutions, fintechs, investment managers and market participants.
The team works closely with its global offices on cross-border matters and advises on a variety of financial products and offerings. This role offers exposure to high quality work in areas including payments and fintech regulation, licensing, AML/CTF, exchange traded funds, structured products, derivatives, financial markets and financial product disclosure.
This position would suit a lawyer looking to step into a collaborative and highly regarded team with strong mentoring, client exposure and long-term career progression opportunities.
Key responsibilities - Advising clients on financial services regulatory compliance and risk matters
- Assisting clients with licensing, disclosure and AML/CTF obligations
- Advising on complex financial products and funds-related matters
- Working closely with domestic and international teams on cross-border transactions and regulatory issues
- Building and maintaining strong client relationships
- Supporting business development initiatives and contributing to the growth of the practice
- Mentoring and assisting junior lawyers within the team
About you To be successful in this role, you will ideally have:
- 4-5+ years’ PAE in financial services regulation
- Experience gained within a top-tier or leading international law firm
- Strong drafting, analytical and commercial skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- A strong client service focus and ability to build lasting relationships
- An interest in business development and growing client networks
- The ability to work collaboratively across teams and jurisdictions
- A willingness to mentor and support junior team members
