Our client is seeking an experienced senior front-end construction lawyer keen to play a pivotal role in building and leading the legal and compliance function.
Position DescriptionIn this role you will:
- draft, review, and negotiate a broad range of commercial agreements, including, EPC and other construction contracts, supply and distribution contracts, confidentiality agreements and employment contracts;
- provide strategic legal advice on a wide range of matters, including statutory interpretation, regulatory obligations, and compliance with Australian laws and industry standards;
- advise internal stakeholders on day-to-day operational and commercial legal issues across functions, with a strong focus on practical, business-oriented solutions;
- prepare and negotiating contracts that align with commercial and legal risk appetite; and
- identify legal risks across the business and develop mitigation strategies that support sustainable growth and protect company interests.
Requirements
The successful candidate will have a minimum of
10 years’ post admission experience in construction law.
In addition, you will:
- have EPC and energy industry experience;
- have demonstrated ability to work both independently and collaboratively across functions in a fast-moving, agile business;
- have strong legal drafting, negotiation, and communication skills, with a commercial mindset;
- have the ability to provide clear, practical advice;
- be highly organised, detail-focused, and committed to delivering high-quality outcomes under time pressure;
- strong business acumen and pragmatic problem-solving ability.
