Where can you see yourself next?

Charlotte F – Hey Judge, I was down at the LAWSKI event in Thredbo a couple of weekends back with a few members of my team, along with my Partner (Boss). These weekends away are always a lot of fun. This year, however, things got a little weird, having been put in a very awkward situation that was only made worse by an overzealous boss who can become very competitive at times. On the night of the opening drinks, a partner from a rival firm approached me, asking if I wanted to work in her team. At first, I brushed off...

Louisa P - Hey Judge, I’m thinking about getting back on the dating scene, however, I’m conscious of Rona vibes and how this may not be the most socially responsible thing to do in the current climate. I feel now is the best chance I’ve got at finding something meaningful, as work has slowed down and I’m finding I now have a lot of time to myself. With that in mind, I’d be interested in getting your thoughts on what’s now considered acceptable when meeting up with someone on a date? Louisa, this is your lucky day. It just so happens I have been contemplating...

Hamish (Lawyer) - Dear Judge Jimmy, I was admitted earlier in the year and am now a practising solicitor at my firm having spent 12 months doing my graduate rotations. Since securing a job as a solicitor, my salary increased enough that I was able to move out of home and start renting with some friends. Judge, not wanting to move back home, what do you suggest I do? Kind regards, Hamish  Dear Hamish, Firstly, and I am sure this does not come as a surprise, but you’re not alone...

What date did you join Montgomery?  June 2019. What is the best and worst part of your job?  The best part is working in a great company that really respects and cares about all of its employees.  I think the worst would be when things don’t work out with a candidate in a new role.  By the time I have placed a somebody in their new role, I feel really aligned with their career goals, so it’s hard to watch them go through the realisation that that job was not really the job they were hoping for. Where did you grow up? ...

Bronwyn H (Lawyer) - Hey Judge Jimmy, it's been 4 weeks since our firm decided everyone should work from home. At first I thought this was going to be a nice change, however since my crazy kids have also been told that they will be schooling from home, I'm finding it really hard to get into a solid routine. Do you have any tips for me on this? Thanks. Hi Bronwyn, thanks for reaching out during these very disruptive times. Everyone’s normal daily routines have certainly been thrown out the window ever since COVID-19 came to town. Finding some sort of normality amid...
