The Team

The team works with a range of clients from industries, including energy and infrastructure, oil and gas, sports, media, real estate, health, financial and professional services. Their lawyers bring a wealth of experience and insight into the financial services sector, market conventions, and business cycles – offering clients a seasoned perspective. 

The Role

The London office of this law firm is looking for an associate to join their team. The role will see you working closely with the team on a range of high-quality transactional matters. The candidate would be able to work through the whole process of the transactions from term sheet stage to post-closing.

Key areas of responsibility will include (but not limited to): 

• Drafting and negotiating key deal documents.
• Manage all client work allocated to them, liaising with clients, managing expectations and providing consistently excellent client service.
• Providing guidance and expert advice to other colleagues as required.
• Self-motivated business development and business development with the wider team .
• Exercising high standards of client care in a professional and friendly manner.
• Contributing to team training and know-how.
• Keeping up to date with caselaw, policy and planned reforms.

Key Requirements
  
The successful candidate will have 4 years + proven experience from a highly respected firm. Ideally you will have a broad practice covering leveraged & acquisition, corporate, real estate and fund finance. 

Our client will consider those who are more specialised looking to broaden skill set and very much open to Associates from Australia and New Zealand.
  
They will ideally also have:

• Experience of working within a leading Banking & Finance team on lender-side roles is essential.
• Equivalent experience on borrower/sponsor side roles would be beneficial.
• Strong academics.
• Solid Commercial acumen.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
• Ability to explain complex information clearly and concisely. 

Candidates MUST be a qualified solicitor.
