We represent a major ASX listed financial services company.

They are currently looking for a Senior Employment Lawyer in Sydney.

Team

Our client's legal and governance team is led by a well-regarded Group General Counsel who has extensive experience in the financial services industry. The team is divided into sub-teams that serve the various business lines of the company. This Employment lawyer will be responsible for managing all aspects of workplace relations, industrial relations and employment law. 

Position Description

On offer is an opportunity to join this leading financial services company as the key Employment lawyer for the business. You will have frequent exposure to the General Counsel and board. 

This role would suit someone who thinks open-mindedly, has strong judgement skills and the ability to communicate clearly and effectively with both lawyers and non-lawyers alike. 

Requirements

The successful applicant will have at least 12 years' post-admission experience either in-house or in private practice, with well-developed employment and workplace relations skills.

In addition you will have:

• a solid understanding of people related commercial, and legal risk management concepts and practices 
• excellent communication skills
