Senior Associate, Litigation & Regulatory Investigations Lawyer

This premier law firm has received multiple prestigious awards and is consistently recognised as being a highly innovative law firm.   

As an upshot of growth, the Sydney office is currently looking to recruit a key member to their Dispute Resolution team. 

It is an opportunity for a senior level lawyer -- most likely with 5+ years' PAE -- who has hands-on experience with large and complex matters, and is keen to work on a range of commercial and corporate disputes, regulatory investigations and class actions.
  
Dispute Resolution   
  
The Sydney Dispute Resolution team is regarded as one of Australia's leading practices and includes some of the brightest and most-respected practitioners.   
They cover the full gamut of disputes including contractual disputes, directors' duties', shareholder disputes, resources disputes, class actions, and regulatory investigations.   
  
The team are regularly acknowledged as leaders in their field by independent legal directories.   
    
Position Description   
  
This role will see you practising in all spheres of commercial and corporate dispute resolution, working most closely with two highly rated partners. You will also gain exposure to other partners within the wider team from time to time.   

The team acts for public and private sector clients, which includes prominent regulators. 

You will gain exposure to the following types of matters:   
  • contractual disputes
  • misleading and deceptive conduct
  • resources disputes
  • shareholder disputes
  • directors' duties'
  • class actions
  • regulatory investigations (ASIC, ACCC and APRA).
This is a great opportunity for a driven and talented litigation lawyer given there is a real career track.   
  
Requirements    
  
You will most likely be a lawyer with five+ years' experience in commercial litigation.  Experience in class actions and/or regulatory disputes would be a bonus but is not required.     
  
In addition, you will:   
  • have strong attention to detail with well-developed analytical skills
  • be willing and able to take carriage of matters
  • be looking to continue building your own professional profile.
