Our client's legal and governance team is led by a highly regarded General Counsel and Head of Corporate Governance, who both have extensive experience in the financial services industry. The Corporate Governance team is responsible for providing legal services to various business areas as well as providing corporate governance services to the boards of the company's entities.
Position Description
On offer is the opportunity to join this leading financial services company.
The Senior Company Secretary is responsible for providing professional corporate secretarial and governance advisory services and support to a range of committees, boards and entities within the Wealth Management portfolio. The role also requires work with other members of the Corporate Governance team to undertake a range of legal and governance projects across the group.
You will need to identify and understand the company's responsibilities, strategies and priorities, and provide appropriate and strategic legal advice.
Requirements
The successful applicant will have:
- tertiary qualifications in law, business or related field,
- minimum 6 years company secretarial experience,
- knowledge and experience of the financial services industry and the legal and regulatory regime, including knowledge of managed investment schemes, responsible entity and AFSL obligations,
- excellent understanding of corporate governance issues (both at policy and implementation level),
- experience in liaising and building effective relationships with non-executive directors, executives and other senior internal business partners and regulators.
