We represent an Australian owned and operated property development and construction company which specialises in commercial, retail and residential developments.
They are currently looking for a Legal Counsel to support their friendly and collegial in-house legal team.
Legal Team
The Legal team are responsible for providing legal and strategic support in respect of projects in addition to supporting the wider business.
Given the company is an integrated property development and construction company, the in-house lawyers will provide legal advice on the complete lifecycle including the scouting, acquiring, development, selling and leasing.
Position Description
Your position will see you working closely with the General Counsel and Senior Legal Counsel, yet also gaining considerable exposure to the wider business.
Duties and responsibilities of the position will include:
- Provide legal advice and support on a range of property-related matters, including acquisitions, dispositions, leasing, finance, construction and development projects.
- Draft, review, and negotiate a variety of property and commercial contracts and agreements.
- Conduct due diligence on property transactions to identify legal risks and provide recommendations.
- Stay updated on relevant laws and regulations affecting the property and construction industries.
- Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure legal compliance and mitigate risks.
- Assist in the management and resolution of legal disputes and litigation related to property, construction and commercial issues.

Requirements
To be successful in this role you will have between
2 to 4 years' post admission experience in property law, and preferably construction law, from either private practice or in house.
