The role: You will provide strategic legal counsel on complex M&A and corporate matters, working closely with key internal and external stakeholders. You will play a key role in engaging and managing external counsel and advising on M&A matters (including corporate strategy, regulatory compliance, governance and risk) as well as general corporate advisory.
Role requirements: -
- Provide expert legal advice on complex corporate transactions and contractual negotiations
- Support divestments, acquisitions, and corporate structuring and governance
- Engage and manage external counsel effectively
- Collaborate with internal in-house team and executive leadership
In addition, you will have: - Admitted to practice in Australia, with a current practicing certificate
- Minimum 7 + years’ post-admission experience, specialised in M&A
- Extensive knowledge of corporate governance, contract law, regulatory compliance (including FIRB and ACCC knowledge), and risk management
- A flexible and proactive approach coupled with an analytical and logical mind
- Demonstrated ability to develop solutions in a clear and practical way
- Excellent organisational and time management skills
- Strong interpersonal, drafting, and communication skills
