Sitting at the heart of the firm’s Global Loans practice, the team advises on the full range of sophisticated corporate finance transactions — from high-value bilateral and syndicated facilities to complex acquisition, leveraged, and structured financings with multi-jurisdictional or bespoke structuring elements.


The practice acts for all four major Australian banks, many international investment banks, and a wide range of global financial institutions, regularly advising on some of the most significant and high-profile transactions in the market.


Corporate Finance Team


Based in Sydney, the team works closely with colleagues across Australia and internationally to deliver innovative solutions for complex financings. Position Description


In this role, you will:

  • Advise on corporate finance transactions, including common terms deed platforms, syndicated and bilateral loans, and cross-border financings, providing transaction structuring advice.
  • Prepare, review, and negotiate finance documentation such as facility agreements, common terms deeds, security trust deeds, security documents, and guarantees, ensuring alignment with market practice and client objectives.
  • Manage transactions from start to finish — liaising with clients, financiers, and advisers, addressing issues, and overseeing execution and closing.
  • Delegate and supervise work for junior team members, providing leadership, training, and mentoring.
  • Participate in business development, networking, and client workshops on recent market terms and trends.
  • Contribute to the team’s know-how and thought leadership initiatives.
Key Requirements

You will be an Associate / Senior Associate with 3+ years’ loan markets experience, ideally gained in a top-tier or respected mid-tier firm or in-house. You will bring:
  • Strong experience in corporate finance, including bilateral and syndicated facilities, and familiarity with APLMA precedents.
  • Proven ability to manage complex transactions to tight deadlines with appropriate partner support.
  • Excellent drafting, negotiation, and communication skills.
  • A proactive, client-focused approach with enthusiasm for mentoring and business development.
