Senior Associate - Corporate M&A

Corporate M&A Team

Based in Brisbane, the team operates as part of an integrated national Corporate group, offering a collaborative and high-performing environment. Lawyers benefit from direct client access, hands-on partner support, and the opportunity to lead on substantial matters with real career progression.

Position Description

In this role, you will:
  • Advise on the full spectrum of corporate transactions, including public and private M&A, ECM, joint ventures, restructures, and corporate governance matters.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate transaction documentation, shareholder agreements, underwriting arrangements, and regulatory filings.
  • Manage complex transactions end-to-end, coordinating with clients, advisers, and stakeholders to ensure efficient execution.
  • Mentor and supervise junior lawyers, contributing to training, knowledge sharing, and team leadership.
  • Support business development initiatives, client relationship management, and thought leadership activities.
Key Requirements

You will be a Senior Associate with:
  • At least 6 years’ post-admission experience in corporate law, ideally gained at a top-tier or leading national/international firm.
  • Strong experience advising on M&A, equity capital markets, and foreign investment matters.
  • Excellent drafting, negotiation, and analytical skills, with sound commercial judgment.
  • Proven ability to manage complex matters with autonomy and professionalism.
  • A collaborative, client-focused mindset with enthusiasm for mentoring and contributing to a high-performing team.
