With growth within their Corporate (Funds/Financial Services) team, this firm is now looking for a Lawyer or Senior Associate to join their four partner team in Sydney.

Corporate (Funds/Financial Services)

The Corporate group at this law firm advise clients throughout Australia on a range of corporate legal services including mergers & acquisitions, takeovers, equity capital markets, private equity, funds management, corporate governance and joint ventures. 

Within the wider Corporate group, sits the Financial Services/Funds team that provide expertise in Australian financial services licensing, funds management, compliance and fundraising.  Their lawyers act for wholesale and retail fund managers, managed investment and financial service clients including financial advisers, income and finance funds, equity funds, property trusts (listed and unlisted), hedge funds, stockbrokers, payment providers and foreign services providers.

Position Description

This major law firm is looking for a Lawyer or Senior Associate to work in a broad financial services/funds role.

Your role will include:

• drafting and reviewing fund constitutions and trust deeds, disclosure documents, authorised representative agreements, IMAs, compliance plans, financial services guides and AML/CTF programs
• strategic advice to wholesale and retail funds, payment providers and other financial service providers
• advise on the acquisition and disposal of funds management and financial services businesses.

Requirements

You will be a lawyer or senior associate level lawyer (3yrs+) with proven corporate (funds/financial services) experience.

In addition, you will have:

• a recognised professional profile and an ability to develop an internal network beyond the practice group;
• a developed commercial awareness; and, 
• a proven ability to prioritise multiple tasks.
