Employment The employment team specialises in areas of employment law and regulatory investigations. Their clients include some of the largest employers in both public and private sectors, and across a range of different industries.
The Sydney employment team is led by three highly regarded partners, who provide support for the development of your individual expertise.
Position Description The role will see you working closely with three partners and other senior members on the team. You will have the opportunity to deal with clients in a variety of contentious and non-contentious matters.
Your responsibilities will include:
- being a mentor to junior professional staff;
- dealing with marketing and interacting with clients;
- drafting employment contracts;
- advising on disciplinary processes and workplace investigations;
- advising and acting on the implementation of industrial strategies;
- defending unfair dismissal; and
- providing preventative measures and dispute resolution.

Requirements Our client is looking for a well-rounded and motivated senior associate to join their Sydney team. The successful candidate for must have
a minimum of 4 years’ post admission experience in a reputable practice. Ideally you will have a mixture of litigation and workplace advisory experience.
In addition, you will have:
- strong drafting skills;
- advanced communication and client liaison skills;
- in depth knowledge of current laws; and
- an ability to both cooperate with partners and take responsibility in operating independently when required.
