Our client is is seeking a Legal Counsel or Senior Legal Counsel with experience in litigation for a contract role for 5 - 6 months. The successful candidate will manage a small but complex litigation load, supporting all stages of the litigation lifecycle.

Our client is is seeking a Legal Counsel or Senior Legal Counsel with experience in litigation for a contract role for 5 - 6 months. The successful candidate will manage a small but complex litigation load, supporting all stages of the litigation lifecycle.
Key responsibilities include:
- Managing respondent matters across judicial review, class actions, AAT matters and related disputes.
- Reviewing submissions, preparing evidence and assisting with discovery.
- Liaising with external law firms and Commonwealth agencies.
- Managing subpoenas and briefing internal clients.
- Supporting litigation strategy and risk management.
- Minimum 3+ years post-admission experience. More experienced legal counsel highly regarded.
- Strong grasp of administrative law and litigation processes.
- Ability to manage competing deadlines and provide clear, practical advice.
- Strong written communication, stakeholder management and organisational skills.
- Baseline security clearance (or ability to obtain one).
- Preference for on-site in Canberra. Remote considered for suitable candidates.
- Full-time preferred. Part-time or job-share may be considered.
