Junior Solicitor, Construction

We have been briefed by a boutique construction law firm in Sydney to identify a construction lawyer who has 1-3 years' PAE with either experience in, or keen interest to practise in, construction law.

This boutique law firm prides itself on providing the highest quality legal services to a diverse range of clients across the construction, property and development industries. 
  
Their experience covers all facets of development including commercial, residential, industrial, aged care and retirement and public infrastructure. They act for a range of clients including owners, developers, contractors, sub-contractors across these sectors.
  
The team

The team at this boutique construction law firm undertakes large and complex infrastructure, construction and engineering projects and matters in Australia.

The team covers the full range of construction matters including:
  • advice on all aspects of their projects (including pre-contract, project delivery methods, project finance, procurement, drafting standard and bespoke construction contracts);
  • contract administration and interpretation;
  • all forms of construction claims;
  • litigation; and
  • alternative dispute resolution (including mediation, expert determination, and arbitration (including international arbitration)).  
Position Description

This construction law firm is looking to hire a talented 1 to 3 year construction lawyer. You will work closely with three well-regarded partners in the industry as well as other members of the firm.
 
You will act for a range of clients including owners, developers, project managers, consultants, and contractors on a mix of front end and back end construction matters, but with a focus on the latter.

On offer is the opportunity to work very closely with your supervising partners and other members of the firm, who are known for their ability to mentor and supervise lawyers to ensure that they reach their full potential. 
 
Requirements

You will be an junior to intermediate level lawyer with between 1 to 3 years' construction experience. If you have general disputes experience with a keen interest in specialising in construction, you are also encouraged to apply.

In addition, you will have the following:
  • An ability to manage multiple tasks; 
  • A common sense approach;
  • Attention to detail; and
  • A can do attitude and a willingness to learn.
