On offer is a Deputy Chief Legal Officer role with an ASX listed entity.
Team
Our client's legal, risk and governance team is led by a highly regarded General Counsel, with a team of high performing lawyers and Executives. This role with have 5 senior direct reports.
Position Description
Reporting to the Chief Legal Officer, the Deputy Chief Legal Officer will play a pivotal leadership role across legal and regulatory matters.
This is an impactful role, with the opportunity to initiate and drive change across the business. The role combines leadership of high performing legal and regulatory teams with strategic thinking and innovation to deliver pragmatic, commercial and solutions-oriented advice across the Wealth and Banking businesses.
This role will lead the evolution of the legal operating model and ensure robust management of major litigation and regulatory interactions.
Requirements
The successful applicant will have:
- minimum 15 years' post admission experience in financial services law, gained in private-practice or in-house;
- extensive experience in and outstanding legal skills relating to wealth, including superannuation, retirement, platforms, funds and investments;
- experience as an SME contributor to financial services M&A;
- exposure to litigation and retail banking preferred;
- ability to initiate and drive change and deliver results through effective leadership and coaching
- ability to develop business plans and strategy and present in senior leadership environments
- experience in presenting to, and advising, boards
- demonstrated understanding of industry and regulatory regimes relating to financial services.
