The Opportunity
  
Our client, a leading national commercial law firm, is seeking an Associate or Senior Associate to join its growing Planning & Environment practice in Sydney.
  
This is an exciting opportunity to join a highly regarded team that advises both public and private sector clients on a diverse mix of litigation, advisory, and transactional matters. Working alongside experienced practitioners, you will gain exposure to complex planning and environmental issues while developing your expertise within a collaborative and supportive team.

The Role
  • Act on proceedings in the Land and Environment Court of New South Wales.
  • Advise clients on planning, environmental and local government matters, including statutory interpretation, development contributions, environmental compliance, and contamination issues.
  • Draft planning agreements, works-in-kind agreements, and other complex contractual documentation.
  • Assist Government clients with strategic legal projects and advisory work.
  • Work collaboratively with clients and colleagues to deliver practical and commercially focused legal solutions.
  • Manage matters with increasing autonomy while contributing to a collaborative team environment.
Ideal Candidate
  • 2+ years' post-admission experience in planning, environment, or related litigation.
  • Experience or a genuine interest in Land and Environment Court litigation.
  • Strong analytical, research, drafting, and statutory interpretation skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • A collaborative approach and ability to build strong client relationships.
  • Motivated to develop a long-term career within a leading Planning & Environment practice.
