Senior Associate Lawyer, Construction (Disputes)

We are partnering with a leading Construction Disputes team looking to bring on a Senior Associate to their busy team in Brisbane. 

This is an opportunity to join a nationally recognised Construction and Infrastructure practice where you will work on complex, high-quality matters with sophisticated clients.

The Opportunity

This is an excellent opportunity for a Senior Associate or Special Counsel level lawyer to join an experienced and high-performing Construction team.
The practice advises on all aspects of contentious construction matters, including:
  • Construction litigation and dispute resolution
  • Domestic and international arbitration
  • Contractual dispute resolution processes
  • Security of Payment adjudications
  • Strategic advice to support successful project delivery
You will work closely with experienced partners and clients across Brisbane and Sydney, acting on a diverse range of nationally significant projects. The team's work spans mining and energy infrastructure, renewable energy, utilities, transport, ports and airports, and major social infrastructure projects.

The role will provide the opportunity to take ownership of complex matters, draft sophisticated legal documents, provide strategic and commercial advice, and develop strong client relationships.

About you

The ideal candidate will have at least 6 years post admission experience within a reputable private practice environment

Additionally, you will have: 
  • Experience across litigation, arbitration, adjudication and/or contractual dispute resolution
  • A strong understanding of the construction industry and a genuine interest in building a long-term career in construction law
  • Excellent drafting, communication and analytical skills
  • Strong commercial judgement and the ability to manage matters with a high degree of autonomy
  • Confidence engaging directly with clients and key stakeholders
  • A collaborative approach and the ability to work effectively within a close-knit team
  • An interest in mentoring junior lawyers and contributing to the ongoing growth of the practice
