An exciting opportunity is available for a Lawyer or Senior Associate with front-end construction experience to join a highly regarded Construction & Infrastructure practice in Sydney.
This is an excellent opportunity to work on major construction and infrastructure projects across a broad range of sectors, including transport, aviation, energy, government, telecommunications, education, financial services and major property development.
You will join a collaborative and high-performing team advising both government and private sector clients throughout the full project lifecycle, from procurement and contract structuring through to administration and delivery.

The Team

The Construction & Infrastructure team is a highly regarded national practice advising on significant projects across Australia.
The team has extensive experience across major infrastructure, commercial, residential, industrial and remediation projects, including hospitals, airports, transport infrastructure, water treatment facilities and large-scale developments.
The practice works across both front-end and back-end construction matters, giving lawyers exposure to the full lifecycle of complex projects and a broad understanding of the commercial and legal issues that arise from procurement through to delivery and dispute resolution.
You will work closely with experienced partners and senior lawyers across multiple offices, gaining direct exposure to sophisticated matters and high-quality clients.

The Role

We are seeking a Lawyer or Senior Associate with at least 2 years' post-admission experience to join the front-end Construction & Infrastructure practice in Sydney.
You will provide commercially focused advice throughout the project lifecycle, supporting clients on procurement strategy, contract structuring, risk allocation, contract administration and project delivery.
The role will involve drafting, reviewing and negotiating complex construction and project agreements, advising on procurement and delivery models, and assisting clients with high-value and strategically significant projects.
This is an excellent opportunity for a construction lawyer looking to deepen their front-end expertise while gaining exposure to major projects shaping the infrastructure landscape in New South Wales and nationally.

Responsibilities include:
  • Advising government and private sector clients on the procurement, structuring and delivery of major projects.
  • Drafting, reviewing and negotiating complex construction and project agreements.
  • Advising on procurement strategies and project delivery models.
  • Advising on contractual risk allocation and contract administration issues.
  • Supporting clients throughout all stages of project delivery.
  • Assisting on high-value and strategically significant construction and infrastructure projects.
  • Working across projects in sectors including transport, aviation, energy, telecommunications, government, education and property development.
  • Collaborating with lawyers across both front-end and back-end construction matters.
  • Building trusted client relationships and delivering practical and commercially focused advice.
Requirements
  • At least 2 years' post-admission experience.
  • Relevant experience in construction, projects or infrastructure law.
  • Demonstrated experience advising on front-end construction and major projects matters.
  • Strong drafting and negotiation skills across complex project documentation.
  • Sound commercial judgement and the ability to provide practical and solutions-focused advice.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
  • The ability to work autonomously while contributing effectively within a collaborative team.
  • Strong organisational and matter management skills.
  • A genuine passion for construction and infrastructure law and a desire to build a long-term career in the sector.
