Associate – Restructuring & Insolvency An exciting opportunity is available for an Associate with restructuring, insolvency or banking and finance experience to join a leading Restructuring & Insolvency practice.
This is an excellent opportunity to work on some of Australia's largest and most complex distressed and insolvency situations, gaining exposure to sophisticated restructuring transactions, workouts, distressed financing and cross-border matters.
You will join a collaborative and high-performing team that works closely with specialists across banking and finance, corporate and private equity to develop innovative and commercially focused solutions for clients facing complex financial situations.
The Team
The Restructuring & Insolvency team advises on complex distressed situations using a broad range of formal, consensual and informal restructuring and turnaround processes.
The practice works across both front-end and back-end restructuring matters, with a strong emphasis on transactional and advisory work. Back-end work is generally focused on court applications required to support and implement restructuring processes and structures rather than broader commercial litigation.
The team regularly advises on complex and innovative restructuring structures and works collaboratively with lawyers across banking and finance, M&A and private equity to deliver integrated solutions for clients.
You will work closely with experienced senior practitioners in a collaborative team environment where lawyers at all levels are encouraged to contribute to strategy and develop their technical and commercial expertise.

Requirements - Approximately 2–4 years' post-admission experience.
- Experience in restructuring and insolvency, insolvency litigation, banking and finance or a related practice area.

- For insolvency litigators, a genuine interest in transitioning towards predominantly front-end restructuring and transactional work.
- For Banking & Finance lawyers, an interest in developing specialist restructuring and insolvency expertise.
- Strong technical, drafting and analytical skills.
- The ability to think strategically, laterally and creatively when approaching complex legal and commercial issues.
