Lawyer or Senior Associate – Construction & Infrastructure
An exciting opportunity is available for a Lawyer or Senior Associate to join a growing Construction & Infrastructure practice in Melbourne.
This is an excellent opportunity to work across complex construction and commercial disputes while also gaining exposure to front-end construction matters. You will join a collaborative and high-performing team advising on major projects across energy, real estate and civil infrastructure.
The Team
The Construction & Infrastructure team advises clients across a broad range of major projects and disputes, with experience spanning new energy, property development and civil infrastructure.
The practice has a strong focus on complex construction and commercial disputes, while also providing front-end project and construction advice. This gives lawyers the opportunity to work across both contentious and advisory matters and develop a broad understanding of the full project lifecycle.
You will work closely with experienced senior practitioners on sophisticated matters, gaining exposure to quality clients, complex disputes and significant project work.
The Role
We are seeking a Lawyer or Senior Associate with approximately 3–7 years' post-admission experience to join the Construction & Infrastructure practice in Melbourne.
The role has a strong back-end construction focus and will involve working on complex construction and commercial disputes, while also providing opportunities to assist with front-end construction and project matters.
The opportunity will suit a lawyer with established construction and infrastructure experience who is interested in continuing to develop across both contentious and non-contentious work.
You will gain exposure to major projects across a range of sectors, including energy, real estate and civil infrastructure, while working closely with experienced lawyers in a supportive and commercially focused environment.

- Working on commercial disputes arising from major projects.
- Assisting with dispute strategy, claims and contentious construction matters.
- Advising on front-end construction and project matters.
- Drafting and reviewing construction and project documentation.
- Working across projects in the energy, real estate and civil infrastructure sectors.
- Providing practical and commercially focused advice throughout the project lifecycle.
- Working closely with clients, counsel, experts and other project stakeholders.
- Building strong client relationships and contributing to the continued growth of the practice.
- Admission as a lawyer in Australia.
- Approximately 3–7 years' post-admission experience.
- Strong experience in construction and infrastructure law.
- A predominantly back-end construction background, ideally with some front-end experience.
- Candidates with a broader mix of front-end and back-end construction experience will also be considered.
- Experience gained within a reputable law firm or in-house legal team.
- Strong drafting, analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
- Sound commercial judgement and the ability to provide practical advice.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
- A collaborative and proactive approach.
- An entrepreneurial and innovative mindset.
- A genuine passion for construction and infrastructure law and a desire to continue developing expertise across the sector.
