Intellectual Property & Trade Marks Lawyer | 3+ PAE | International Firm | Melbo
We are representing a leading international law practice seeking an experienced Trade Marks Lawyer to join its highly regarded IP team in Melbourne or Sydney.
The role
This role offers exposure to a broad range of contentious and non-contentious trade mark matters, including Australian and international trade mark filing and prosecution, portfolio management, brand clearance and rebranding strategies.
You will advise clients on the protection and commercial management of significant IP portfolios, as well as drafting and negotiating consent and co-existence agreements and advising on the intellectual property aspects of corporate transactions. You will also gain exposure to trade mark and domain name disputes while working closely with the broader IP disputes practice.
Working alongside leading IP practitioners, you will advise well-known Australian and global brands in a collaborative and supportive environment. The role offers strong client exposure, sophisticated work and the opportunity to continue developing specialist expertise within a market-leading practice.

About You
- 3+ years' experience in trade marks gained within a leading private practice or sophisticated in-house environment
- Strong experience in Australian and/or international trade mark prosecution and portfolio management
- Excellent academic credentials together with strong drafting, analytical and technical legal skills
- Strong communication and client relationship skills with a practical and commercially focused approach
- Ability to manage competing priorities and work effectively both autonomously and as part of a collaborative team
- Proactive, intellectually curious and interested in emerging technologies and their impact on intellectual property
- Admitted to practise as a lawyer in Australia or New Zealand
